Craft Knife

I liked the way the Martha Stewart craft knife sat in my hand, but I hated the blade. Unlike this picture, the blade is actually along the straight side, and it was difficult for me to get a good -or straight- cut. So I got the X-acto Designer series craft knife at WalMart and I really like this blade. The handle is very comfortable and the blade is easy to work with..

Paper Trimmers:

So far I can tell you that I do not like the Fiskars 154480-1001 Scrap Booking Portable Rotary Paper Trimmer for several reasons. First and foremost, the ruler is nearly impossible to read because the numbers are the same colour as the ruler. They aren't set on a white background as most of the other Fiskars paper trimmers are - they're raised numbers of the same orange plastic. Second, the blade doesn't cut where you think it will. There is a mark on the base that makes you think that is the cut line, but its not. I don't know what that line is for, and there is no line indicating where the blade will cut. And lastly, but most importantly, it doesn't like to cut through cardstock. Regular paper is fine, but anything thicker than that and you have to run it through four or five times, which is a pain if you think you've cut it and pull the paper out only to find that it didn't go all the way through and you have to try to line it up again.

When I find one that works well, I'll let you know.
